About Tasman K. B.

We are an Australian Owned Family Company In 1986 Bob Frost and Ken Bell started K.B. Timber Marketing to import and wholesale timber mainly from New Zealand to established New South Wales customers that they both had formed relationships with over the years. A little over a year later in April 1987, Fletcher Challenge bought a 50% stake in their business and made them the principle agent of Tasman Lumber one of NZ's largest saw milling companies. Tasman KB (TKB) was born and branches in Melbourne and Brisbane were opened a year later. Today David McAndrew heads up the company. Tasman KB continued to grow and expanded their supplier and customer base. Timber was imported from Canada, USA, Asia, Europe and even South Africa. As production of softwoods increased in Australia, TKB started wholesaling a larger portion of their product mix from Australian mills. Today TKB has significant supply agreements with many Australian and New Zealand and South East Asian suppliers. TKB is continually looking for NEW products. The future for Tasman KB is to continue to grow by offering a diverse product mix from a variety of sources both locally and from overseas, to cater for the demands of our customer base in the Australian building and manufacturing industry using wood based products.
